Cooking is an essential, and basic skill but all too often people find it difficult for one reason or another. Here are some of my top tips to help you improve your cooking.
British pubs used to allow smoking, but not anymore. If you wish to light up a cigarette, you will not be allowed to do so inside the pub. While some parts of the UK have been slower to follow suit, England imposed a smoking ban in pubs in 2007. This means that if you are a smoker, do not expect to be able to smoke inside a pub that has already imposed the ban. Some pub managers allow people to continue to smoke outside in the beer garden. But this is at the discretion of the pub manager and should not be expected as a general rule.
The great thing is that the video phone has bridged that gap. It has married our need for the human touch with technology that is as easy and simple to use as Mr Alexander Bell’s telephone itself.
One of the popular pubs in Central London is known as the Lamb and Flag. It is located within the heart of Covent Garden, and at last count it is thought to be at least three hundred years old. The pub was always popular with the laborers that came there for a drink, but often a night at the pub for many of them would end in fighting. Therefore the pub is not known for the sophisticated or mannerly customers it now has today.
Although this diet does make sense in theory, many people find this diet too impractical to follow. It means you can’t have a chicken or ham sandwich. You can’t have a pub hotel with meat and potatoes. Many people just can’t get their head around this.
If you are in a hard water area, you can still use soap flakes or soap gel to wash clothes, but you will have to add a water softener. Borax is the classic water softener used in many natural domestic cleaning recipes.
Essential oils are also popular additions to natural laundry products. Some oils not only add a pleasant scent but also help remove stains and act as disinfectants. Eucalyptus oil makes a great stain remover and is the key ingredient in Sard Wonder Soap (if you can get hold of this, it is fantastic for removing all sorts of stains). Tea tree oil is antibacterial. So is lavender.
