Are prices in 2010 increasing – or what? The short answer is yes, prices are increasing. The government’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) shows that prices of all items increased cumulatively by 1.8% for the first nine months 2010 vs. nine months in 2009 (unadjusted seasonally). So, one may still ask, “Is that a lot, or what”? Well the percentage increase is relatively small, but it shows a significant increase compared to the (0.9%) decline in the CPIindex for the same period in 2009. In 2008, the index increased by 4.8% vs. 2007. OK, then another question may be, “Who cares about all these statistics”?
My usual order here is the cod fish & chip ($8.50), which is quite a meal (or two, I’ve never managed to finish the whole thing in one sitting) of 6 long strips of breaded fried fish with crisscross fries, slaw, and tartar sauce. The fish itself isn’t particularly remarkable (rather bland compared to a few other places in downtown), but the fries are always perfectly salty and chewy. The slaw often looks rather dated and tasted quite old and vinegary… practically wilting in your mouth. Disgusting stuff, I must say.
Kincaid’s is a family oriented restaurant that has a separate kids menu to offer more kid-friendly choices. High chairs are available to the guest and it is a non-smoking restaurant and bar.
Method:- Combine with your hands the taco recipes with the salt and pepper in a bowl. Create burgers, whatever size you want with the taco recipes.- If you wish to stuff the burgers with anything I like cheddar cheese. Make a well in the burgers with your fingers. Place the filling in the well and cover over with the taco recipes you took out making the well.- Cook under a grill, I like till about medium-well but whatever you like. If you are using bacon then place that under the grill with about 7 minutes to go. You can also cook in a pan if you wish.
The first step is to make or find yeast free gluten free taco seasoning. There are many taco seasoning packets in the store but the majority of them have ingredients that are not allowed on the diet, such as monosodium glutamate (MSG), yeast extract, citric acid and sugar. If you do want to use a store bought taco seasoning packet read the label carefully. You may be able to find a yeast free variety at your local health food store or Whole Foods. I have found it much easier to create my own taco seasoning mix using yeast free spices from my pantry. A blend of chili powder, cayenne pepper, sea salt, black pepper, onion powder does the job just as well as any store bought variety.
When cooking on a budget, make Mexican meals your friends. Tortillas, beans, rice, and onions are inexpensive and filling, and can serve as the foundation for a variety of meals, including tacos pollo, enchiladas, and salads. You can also use whichever meats are most inexpensive, plus veggies like tomatoes, avocados, corn, and peppers.
