Make strides toward a healthier planet by following these green tips. They aren’t merely sustainable choices, either. Many of the tips will also save you money – it’s like a gift basket for your wallet and the environment!
Switch to water heating systems that use solar power to heat hot tubs, pools and indoor water. Using electricity or gas to heat water is not terribly efficient, but water heaters that use solar power maintain water temperatures using only the sun’s rays by way of solar panels. Many of these improvements will cost you a bit up front, but the cost savings and tax deductions will usually more than offset that cost.
As an investor, how can I help sustain the earth? I call it sustainable investing. It is simply investing in companies whose products or services promote the sustainability of the planet. Companies providing technology for renewable energy is a perfect example. In particular, I will talk about solar companies in this post.
Build your own solar panels, and create a power supplier source and a method of generating you own energy needs. Some things that you will want to consider before building are the following. How are the solar panels going to be used? To supply all the energy needs of your home, or just as a partial offset from utility power? How much power you wish to generate will determine the size of the panels. If your solar panel frame is being built out of wood, you will need to have the following tools to build your own solar panels.
Recycle your paper. Home offices consume paper just as much as regular offices do. Are you in the habit of throwing away sheets of paper that you have already used? If the other side is still blank, you can still reuse it as scratch paper. Or you can let your paper pile up and then take it to your local recycling center.
EPA’s on-site producers list is topped by Kimberly-Clark Corp., which produces 176.5 million kWh through biomass. No. 2 on the list is the City of San Diego, which produces 69 million kWh through solar, biogas and hydropower.
The problem is that we humans are burning, churning and polluting our way through a finite fuel source. What if, on the other hand, we got handed to us a viable energy source that doesn’t stink up the place?
The last bit of encouragement I have for people interested in how to make wind power has to do with the two biggest reasons people are interested in this path: savings and the environment. When a person becomes more energy self sufficient, they no longer require so much energy from their electric company. The bills decrease and the expendable income increases. You will have more money for things you need! In addition, it is clean energy. Clean energy equals a cleaner environment. These are reasons to seriously consider wind power.
